Frequently Asked Questions
“Lucy has made my daughter multiple dance costumes (at short notice too); the process from start to finish is seamless. The attention to detail is beautiful and the dresses are stunning. We will definitely use The Jump Stitch again and can’t recommend her enough.”
Gemma C, UK
“Lucy custom made flying trapeze wraps for me last year. One is adorned with cat paw footprints and the other with the silhouette of a cat on a moon. They are adorable and I always receive compliments when I wear them!”
Lucia D, Netherlands
“I loved working with Lucy to create a bespoke costume for my hand balancing performance. My brief was very unusual and posed some technical challenges which Lucy researched and executed brilliantly. She did a brilliant job and I’m really pleased with the final product! Thank you!”
Amy S, UK
"Have ordered my very personal customised wrist wraps from The Jump Stitch last year: the most amazing product!! Super quick and easy process, so flexible and fun choosing my own very specific picture I want. Quality is amazing and such a personal touch. Would highly reccomend and surely would book again!"
Ilona P, Ireland
“I cannot recommend Lucy at The Jump Stitch enough. From start to finish the process was incredibly smooth. There’s something very special in watching ideas that were only in your head come to life on paper and then be transformed into a real costume. Having a bespoke costume made is very exciting but getting it right is difficult. Lucy created multiple sketches for me to choose from, based on the brief I provided her with. She came up with ideas I wouldn’t even have thought of but suited what I wanted perfectly. Lucy has much more skill than just sewing and her creativity is what brings her pieces to life. I felt well informed throughout the process, able to steer the direction and choose between different kinds of fabrics and the level of detail I wanted putting into it. Whether you know exactly what you want or only have a rough idea of what you might like, Lucy will be able to create a costume to suit your needs.”
Jemima M, UK
“I cannot fault Lucy whatsoever! She came recommended and I’m so thankful we’ve found her! Not only was she incredibly helpful at finding the perfect match material for me to colour match a costume, but she went above and beyond to ensure all the details were perfect before the quickest turn around of a costume I’ve ever experienced in all my years as a dance teacher. I truly can’t recommend enough and am so thankful. Can’t wait to use more of your beautiful creations in the future Lucy! Thank you you xx”

About The Jump Stitch
At The Jump Stitch, I am passionate about creating custom-made and unique designs for dance, circus, and gymnastics. I work closely with performers to bring their vision to life. I am dedicated to providing high-quality, comfortable, and stylish outfits that elevate performance and inspire confidence.
I started out making gymnastics wear around ten years ago, when I wished there were more inclusive sizes and styles for leotards while I was at university. I was determined to learn how to sew so that a teammate could have a leotard that matched the rest of us, but still met her personal and religious requirements. I made it happen and I’ve never looked back! Since then I’ve become involved in circus and aerial; mostly flying trapeze but I’ve dabbled in other disciplines. I found that circus costumes were more exciting than gym wear so that really got my creative brain working. I started making dance wear for my three gorgeous nieces and it grew from there! I am now working on adding stretch tutus to my list of skills.
